AI is fundamentally transforming journalism – how it is produced and how it operates. Media professionals face daily questions about how to find digital material, verify its authenticity, and assess it. For this edition of AI Monday, journalists and researchers will give short lightning talks presenting proven methods and tools for verifying digital content, new approaches to research and the skills journalists need to work confidently in an increasingly AI-shaped information environment.
With inputs from:
- Lea Weinmann, investigative journalist at Süddeutsche Zeitung and Publix Fellow on OSINT methods and how open-source research, data and collaborative networks can support journalistic investigations.
- Sonja Peteranderl, investigative journalist and Publix Tech Fellow 2026, on weaknesses in technology reporting
- Experts from the DFKI ecosystem will share perspectives from applied AI research, including approaches to detecting manipulated and synthetic media.
Afterward, there will be an opportunity for discussion and drinks.
The event is organized in collaboration with AI Monday, Berlin Partner / ai.berlin, AI Nation, the DFKI, and Publix.
