Strengthening journalism, revitalising democracy

At Publix, we rethink journalism and the role of journalists in our democracy. We’re developing solutions to help overcome the crisis in public opinion formation. Learn more about our mission, our projects and our team.

A house in motion

We opened Publix in 2022. Around 30 different organisations currently work on our four office floors. Editorial offices, publishing houses and non-profit initiatives rent our spaces: get to know our residents.

We focus on journalism and public relations. To this end, we initiate and implement a wide range of projects, often in cooperation with partners and funding organisations.

None of this would be possible without our Friends of Publix – individuals and institutions who support us. The circle of friends supports us financially and programmatically – become part of us!

The architecture

From the in-house canteen on the ground floor to the wonderful panoramic view on the 5th floor, the new building spans six floors. Planning for the building began in autumn 2017, and it opened in autumn 2024.

The Publix Haus on Hermannstraße in Berlin is tailored to the needs of its users and the neighbourhood. The Publix Haus was designed and planned by the Berlin-based architectural firm AFF. Learn more about the history, architecture and planning of the building.
