The competition "Youth Photographs Germany" is the first nationwide project of the laif foundation for independent photojournalism. It invites young people between 10 and 18 years old, introduces them to photojournalism, and makes their perspectives visible to others.

270 groups and almost 800 participants have captured their ideas, wishes, and challenges in impressive photo series. Their images are diverse and moving: friendship and loneliness, growing up, passions, and everyday challenges at school, environment, and politics. These themes not only reflect the reality of young people but also illustrate how important it is to hear their voices and see their stories.

During the Publix Open House Day, the three winning series from the 2024/2025 edition in the 10-14 years category will be displayed. Selected by the jury consisting of: Tina Ahrens (Head of Photo Editorial ZEIT ONLINE), Christoph Bangert (Professor of Photography at University of Hannover), Erol Gurian (Photographer, photojournalist and lecturer), Julian Janssen (TV presenter (Checker Julian) and photo enthusiast), André Lützen (Photographer and lecturer), Barbara Stauss (Photo editor, curator and founding member of the cultural magazine mare).
