More than 30 journalists are currently imprisoned in Azerbaijan. At the same time, the pressure on independent media is growing.
“Letters Beyond Bars” is an interactive exhibition with a letter-writing campaign by Mikroskop Media and Exile Team. It shows portraits and short biographies of around ten imprisoned journalists from independent media outlets and journalistic networks. Visitors learn more about their work and their current situation. They can choose one person and write them a personal letter of solidarity.
The exhibition and the letter-writing campaign are open from 11:00 to 17:00.
At 12:00, a short official opening begins with a press briefing on the situation of imprisoned journalists in Azerbaijan and the importance of international solidarity.
Letteres Beyond Bars takes place in the framework of Berlin Freedom Week 2026.
