Newscamp Neukölln

How are news stories created? How can fake news be identified? How does an idea become a podcast?

At the first Newscamp Neukölln, around 120 students from Berlin will get answers to these questions. In direct exchange with journalists and media professionals, they will try out how research works, how sources are verified, and how to develop their own content. Newscamp Neukölln makes journalism tangible—from fact-checking to TV documentaries—and shows that anyone who wants to navigate the flood of digital content needs to be able to understand, verify, and contextualize information.

Newscamp Neukölln is a joint initiative by Publix and #UseTheNews in cooperation with Believe, Codetekt, Journalismus macht Schule, Lie Detectors, the CORRECTIV-Jugendredaktion Salon5, Tell Me Why, theWortwerkstatt Pipe Up! and theZEIT STIFTUNG BUCERIUS.
