We are currently experiencing one of the biggest fossil fuel crises of our time. At the same time, Germany’s phase-out of gas and oil is being delayed — if not abandoned altogether. Although renewable energy provides climate-friendly and affordable power, households and businesses continue to suffer from high energy prices.
How does all of this fit together? Germany is at a turning point: Will it succeed in accelerating the expansion of renewable energy, or is a political reversal looming? Are we in fact in the process of squandering our energy future?
The panel discussion will feature:
- Claudia Kemfert, energy economist
- Ursula Heinen-Esser, President of the German Renewable Energy Federation (BEE)
- Sophia Eltrop, Board Member of the green energy provider Naturstrom AG
The evening will be moderated by Jörg Staude (Klimareporter).
Admission is free. Register here.
The venue is accessible.
The event marks the release of Claudia Kemfert’s book "Kurzschluss. Wie wir unsere Energiezukunft verspielen" (Campus Verlag).
