Texts, images, voices, entire conversations: a growing proportion of what we encounter every day is generated or co-created by AI. The systems behind this do not pass judgement on what is true or false; they calculate probabilities.
This raises a question that extends far beyond individual cases: what happens to our concept of truth when an increasing proportion of what we read, see and hear is no longer unambiguously of human origin?
Experts from the fields of academia, memorial work and the AI industry will discuss how criteria for credibility are shifting in the age of digital transformation.
Programme:
14:30 Keynote by Mads Pankow: “The new truth? – How social media and AI are changing our criteria for credibility”
15:15 Panel discussion with:
- Nicole Steng, Spokesperson for the Digital History and Memory Network, Education Department/Digital Education, Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site
- Jakob Tesch, Partnership Management, Gretchen AI
- Dorothea Winter, University of Osnabrück

- Gesa Trojan, Technologiestiftung Berlin
