After the State Elections, Ahead of Further Reforms – Lars Klingbeil Appears on “unter 3”

“unter 3—the Phoenix Politics Podcast” goes live in front of an audience for the first time: with Vice Chancellor Lars Klingbeil, the Federal Minister of Finance and SPD Chairman, the two hosts look back at the recent state elections and the major federal and party-political challenges facing Germany in the fall of 2026.

In the podcast, former parliamentary correspondent Erhard Scherfer and political scientist Dr. Julia Reuschenbach (University of Hamburg) discuss current topics of the week with a guest. Three people, three perspectives, and a shared goal: to take a calm look at Berlin‘s political scene and thereby contribute to understanding and the formation of opinions.

The podcast’s title is a tongue-in-cheek reference to a rule governing off-the-record discussions between politicians and the media: Information shared “unter 3 ” may not be quoted.
